Sunset Swings 422SB — Teak Wood Care & Poly Replacement Options

Keeping Your Dual Recliner Swing Beautiful for Years to Come

One of the things I love about the Sunset Swings 422SB Dual Recliner is the combination of comfort and beautiful teak hardwood. With two reclining seats, convenient side tables, and comfortable wooden armrests, it's a wonderful place to relax together.

But here in Arizona, our intense sunshine and extremely dry climate can be tough on natural wood.

The good news? A little maintenance goes a long way!

Step 1 — A Little Light Sanding

If your teak side tables, armrests, or backrest trim begin feeling rough, try using fine 320–400 grit sandpaper.

A cordless Ryobi orbital sander on a low setting works beautifully, but a simple hand sanding block is perfectly fine.

Remember, we're not trying to grind down the wood! We're simply smoothing those little rough spots caused by weathering. Be careful not to sand through an existing protective finish.

Step 2 — Remove the Dust

Use a small blower or clean cloth to remove all the sanding dust before applying your wood treatment.

You don't want that fine dust mixing with the oil and creating a paste!

Step 3 — Protect Your Teak

Check your teak every three months, or as needed, particularly during Arizona's hotter months.

Using a clean painter's rag, apply a suitable outdoor wood preservative. If your teak has an oil finish, use a compatible teak oil and follow the product's application and drying instructions.

No painter's tape, giant sprayer, or painting suit required!

Just a few minutes of TLC.

Restore. Refresh. Keep enjoying.

Want Less Maintenance? Upgrade Your 422SB to Poly!

Here's another great option!

Patio Vault offers Sunset Swings 422SB poly replacement parts, including durable synthetic wood side tables, armrests, and backrest trim.

These weather-resistant composite wood replacement kits provide an attractive wood-grain appearance without the regular sanding and oiling required by natural teak.

They're a wonderful way to restore an older 422SB swing, especially in Arizona, Florida, or anywhere outdoor furniture experiences intense sunshine and changing weather.

You don't need to replace your entire Sunset Swing just because the teak is showing its age!

Ask about replacing your side tables or upgrading the full wooden component package with a 422SB composite replacement kit. Patio Vault can confirm current availability, package contents, and compatibility with your swing.

Looking Ahead to 2027 — Poly Wood Components

The 2027 Sunset Swings 422SB Dual Recliner models are expected to feature poly-style synthetic wood components in place of traditional teak. Contact Patio Vault for the latest model specifications and availability.

Existing 422SB owners can also ask about upgrading their original wood parts for that same lower-maintenance advantage.

Whether you call it poly lumber, synthetic wood, or composite replacement parts, the idea is simple: less maintenance and more time enjoying your swing.

Enjoy Your Investment!

Your Sunset Swings 422SB was designed for years of relaxation. Whether you maintain the beauty of your original teak or upgrade to our low-maintenance poly replacement parts, a little attention today can help keep your swing looking beautiful for years to come.
